| The Lake |
|
The Lake Little Long Lake is a very private lake with crystal clear water. The 300 acres lake is filled with walleye, pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, black crappie, and bluegill. The DNR stocks the lake every two years with walleyes and the average fish surveyed was 4.3 lbs. Fish surveyed in Little Long were larger than other area lakes, most likely due to the presence of smelt, a prime forage minnow. A 45 rod portage connects to Burntside Lake, and a 320 rod portage to Bass Lake. Little Long is located minutes from numerous hiking and biking trails, and Ely’s unique restaurants, shops, and special events
